Wind turbines and health: uncertain science

I invited David McGlinchey of the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences to be part of a live chat about what we do and don’t know about the potential health impacts of wind turbines and, importantly, how we move forward to shape responsible siting policies with incomplete science.  We got a lot of comments and questions. PUBLIC HEARINGS WEEK of 03/21/2011

Here’s the schedule of events with the CT Siting Council next week:

TUESDAY, MARCH 22 2:00-5:00 p.m. Public site review of proposed Flagg Hill Road and Rock Hall Road projects. It will start at the golf driving range (intersection of Rock Hall Road and Rt. 44). Wear appropriate shoes/boots.

TUESDAY, MARCH 22 6:30 p.m. Public hearing at the Northwestern Regional #7 School (100 Battistoni Rd, Winsted, CT 06098). Come and listen and/or sign up to speak (there will be a 3-minute limit for each person to speak).

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23 3:00-5:00 p.m. Evidentiary hearing (the start of questions). Come and listen. Held at Northwestern Regional #7 School.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23 6:30 p.m. Continuation of the public hearing. Come and listen and/or sign up to speak (there will be a 3-minute limit for each person to speak). Held at Northwestern Regional #7 School.

A transcript of the public hearings will be made and filed with the town clerks’ offices in Colebrook, Norfolk, and Winchester. If you miss the hearings, you can read the transcripts later at the town hall.
